Set the Stage with EE & BAFTA

ABOUT

Young Film Academy is delighted to have partnered with EE and BAFTA to deliver Set the Stage – an exciting initiative aimed at supporting young and aspiring filmmakers.

Set the Stage offers teens aged 15-17 the incredible opportunity to write, direct and produce a short film at industry standard. The 16 selected teens will gain hands-on experience and mentorship from BAFTA-nominated actress Daisy Edgar Jones and a BAFTA award-winning crew.

Young Film Academy, as experts in empowering the next generation of filmmakers, is delivering the practical elements of the programme. We will support the project by reviewing applications, leading development workshops over the course of the year and running the week-long shoot in Summer 2025.

The project aimed to provide invaluable insights into the breadth of roles available in the screen arts industries and encourage young people to channel the skills and creativity they have learned through social media, gaming, and technology into creating a short film to explore these viable career choices.

Daisy Edgar-Jones, Normal People, Twisters, and Where the Crawdads Sing, and David Jonsson, The Long Walk, Alien: Romulus, and Rye Lane are also joining the project with BAFTA and EE and mentoring the young filmmakers.
