Join the club! Young Film Academy are running a remote regular 2-hour weekly filmmaking club for aspiring filmmakers ages 10-13. This weekly club will be running via ZOOM on Saturdays.
Students on our beginners Filmmakers Club will join our award-winning professional filmmaking tutor across four weeks to create a film across 4 weeks. They will learn the basics of scriptwriting, shooting & editing, developing their craft through practical exercises and workshops, using equipment they already have at their finger tips! YFA’s Filmmakers Club is perfect for budding and emerging filmmakers looking to be part of a regular and creative online community.
Taster Session information: Clients would pay £25 for taster session and then, if they wanted to continue, would pay £240 minus the £25 they have already paid.
For participants who have previously attended a filmmaking course with YFA, or have some existing filmmaking knowledge. During our advanced filmmakers club our pro filmmaking tutor will work with students to develop their own own independent film project giving feedback along the way. Students on this club will also be able to learn new advanced skills to help make their films as slick and impressive as possible!

Remote course pricing is on a per household group basis. Min-Max group size for this course is 1-2 students. The number of students in your group does not affect the price.
Beginners Taster session: 6th March 9-11am UK TIME
Beginners Class sessions: March 13th, 20th, 27th & April 3rd 2021, 9-11am UK TIME
Advanced Class sessions: March 6th, 13th, 20th & 27th 2021, 1-3pm UK TIME
Beginners Taster session: 10th April, 9-11am UK TIME
Class sessions: April 17th & 24th, May 1st & 8th 2021, 9-11am UK TIME
Advanced Class sessions: April 17th & 24th & May 1st, 8th, 1-3pm UK TIME
– an internet connection capable of reliably streaming video
– any camera device (e.g smartphone, iPad, DSLR, video camera etc)
– a laptop or desktop computer
– ideally a quiet space for working
OPTIONAL: any additional filmmaking equipment you may have that could be used
Dear YFA team, Thank you so much for turning this difficult time into such a positive experience. I was so worried about what to do with the kids when their school closed and they were stuck at home, but over the last four days they’ve had an incredible time learning new skills and were really engaged with the whole filmmaking process. Knowing that we could let them get on with it by themselves was a huge relief. The movie they produced was brilliantly creative (not sure about my cameo though…!) They’re determined to do a music video next, so we will be in touch very soon. Thanks again!

Max and Jake loved the remote course! Max loved it and he learned so much. He is truly passionate about filmmaking and to be able to share what he’s learned so far, have his films professionally critiqued but also to develop his skills was just fantastic – even when it came to sorting critical IT issues 🙂

The girls had a lot of fun making their music videos and we all loved watching the final result. The tutor Nathan was great, he had lots of patience and stayed very calm. I thought the remote course was also explained very well.

Young Film Academy courses are excellent for young people. They get a taste of the craft of filmmaking, in all departments and I was astonished by the speed at which they learned.
Milo had a wonderful time and declared the Four-Day Film School ‘awesome’. He really enjoyed every aspect of it from scripting and storyboarding, to performing and editing. The tutors were excellent and the totally hands-on have-a go-approach was not only fun but very effective
